Further Hand Development

Further development of the hand character:

It has come to my attention that the character and storyboard don't really fit together very well. The environment and animation idea are quite cartoony and humours whilst the mechanical hand has a very serious feeling to it. It is not the way I want to go about this animation. Therefore I am going to have to change my idea. Sadly this means no steam punk theme but I feel that the combination of environment, storyboard and a more cartoony hand would be much stronger than my original concept. Since only the material has changed, Theo Jansen's work is still a strong precedent to how I intend to animate the hand. Oh and I have moved away from the hand idea to a more glove oriented character. This moves the character away from human and into the inanimate world. This new idea has generated lots of interesting points, the lack of weight in the glove being a strong one.
